Focus and Scope

International Journal of High Dilution Research - IJHDR (ISSN 1982-6206) is the first open-access electronic journal specialising in the multidisciplinary field of high dilution research.
Hosted by the Groupe International de Recherche sur l’Infinitésimal (GIRI), it is peer-reviewed, with an international editorial board and published quarterly.
IJHDR answers to a contemporary demand: the field of studies on high dilutions (HDs) has widened to cover areas other than its traditional medical perspective (homeopathy), including basic research on biological and physical-chemical aspects of HDs, applications such as agriculture and veterinary, as well as related technological developments.

IJHDR carries original, review and update papers, as well short communications in the following fields:
1) Fundamental research (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics);
2) Basic research (Biology);
3) Clinical and Pathogenetic research;
4) Theoretical and Historical research;
5) Pharmaceutical research;
6) Plant and Microorganism research;
7) Veterinary research.

An special section is dedicated to Education.

Other submissions may be included in the Sections: Letters to the Editor; Announcements; Dissertation Abstracts, Book Reviews. (see Section Policies; see also Instructions for Authors).

IJHDR complies with the guidelines suggested by the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors (ICMJE - Vancouver). It is advised to consult them. (www.icmje.org)
Papers submitted to IJHDR cannot have been published and/or submitted to any other publication. However, full articles expanding communications in scientific meetings will be considered. The author(s) must make an explicit declaration.

Peer Review Process

Every submission will be initially evaluated by the Editorial Board regarding its relevance to the focus and scope of the journal. Relevant contributions will be reviewed by a member of the Editorial Board acting as Submission Editor, concerning the adequacy to the formal standards of the journal (more information at Author Guidelines).

Submissions will then be handled by an Section Editor, who will select reviewers in number and qualification according to the particular characteristics of each submission. Reviewers may be selected from the Board of Consultants, or special ad hoc reviewers may be appointed if needed.

The reviewers will evaluate the submissions, and would advise:
a) to accept the submission;
b) decline the submission;
c) modifications are needed;
d) make alterations and submit again.

All the peer-review process will be conducted in anonymity, involving the Area Editor, Reviewers and Authors. Reviewers will emit their evaluations according to the Guidelines supplied by IJHDR. Reviewers and Editors may choose to sent to Author(s) reviews as originally written or edited.

Final decision on acceptance of submissions and the schedule for publication will be made by the Editorial Board.

Publication Frequency

International Journal of High Dilution Research is published quarterly (March, June, September and December). A volume corresponds to a specific year and contains 4 regular issues. Special issues can be included in a volume. Cultura Homeopática was also pusblished quarterly, and its last volume (2007;6(21) ) was published in December, 2007. Therefore, IJHDR first volume is #7, containing 4 issues. The first one ( 2008;7(22) ) was published in March, 2008.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Review Guidelines

Manuscripts sent for review are privileged communications and are the private property of the authors. Therefore, reviewers and members of the editorial staff must respect the authors’ rights by not publicly discussing the authors’ work or appropriating their ideas before the manuscript is published.
Reviewers must not make copies of the manuscript for their files and are prohibited from sharing it with others, except with the permission of the editor. Reviewers should return or destroy copies of manuscripts after submitting reviews.
Editors should not keep copies of rejected manuscripts. Reviewers comments will not be published or otherwise made public without permission of the reviewer, author, and editor.
The Editor can publish reviewers’ comments with the manuscript only with the consent of the authors and reviewers. However, reviewers’ comments should be sent to other reviewers of the same manuscript, which helps reviewers learn from the review process, and reviewers may be notified of the editor’s decision. (for more details see www.icmje.org)

In order to help reviewers, the editors suggest the following Review Form: (click here to download Review Form)

Erratum Policy

Errors may be noted in published articles that require the publication of a correction or erratum on part of the work. The corrections will be signalized in the bottom of the article as "Erratum: dd mmm yyyy" with a link to a "Erratum Report", available online and published in the last issue of each volume. The Erratum consists essentially in typewriter errors, but never on changes in the main article's ideas and conclusions.
It is conceivable that an error could be so serious as to vitiate the entire body of the work, but this is unlikely and should be addressed by editors and authors on an individual basis. Such an error should not be confused with inadequacies exposed by the emergence of new scientific information in the normal course of research. The latter requires no corrections or withdrawals.
This Erratum Policy is in agreement with ICMJE Rules.
